ROCKWOOD ACADEMY ENVELOPE RESTORATION

Giaimo is excited to be working with the Ontario Heritage Trust on the Rockwood Academy. This project includes envelope restoration and mechanical upgrades. Built in the 1850s, Rockwood Academy, in Rockwood Ontario just outside of Guelph, is significant for its association with early education in Upper Canada. The building has an interesting history of adaptive reuse, at one point being used as a woolen mill, then farmhouse. In the 1960s, sculptor Yosef Drenters, purchased the property and restored it as an artist live-work space.
