EXISTING POTENTIAL STUDIO IN BUFFALO
Toronto Metropolitan University
This Winter 2023 term, Joey Giaimo and Julia Jamrozik are leading AR8103 Studio in Collaborative Practice: Existing Potential in the Department of Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. In February, the studio visited Buffalo, NY, to tour buildings of various scales, typologies, and styles, including Silo City, Ellicott Square, and Buffalo City Hall. The trip also included a visit to Assembly House 150, which is described as “Part interactive museum, part vocational school, part art/design studio, part construction workshop, part preservation experiment—we channel the dynamic person-centered core of these elements into a place where people can feel alive through the foundational act of building” by Dennis Maher, Founder and Executive Director.
